Abbie believes successful companies must also make a positive impact on people and the world. In her role as Chief Sustainability Officer, she leads the company’s strategy for sustainable practices, regulatory compliance and reporting, including its focus on the environmental impact of IDEX operations, the positive influence the company’s products have on the world, and its approach to people and our communities. Her role also includes leadership of the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety ecosystem, including culture and systems that protect the workplace safety of IDEX employees around the world.
Before being named to her current role in 2023, Abbie served as the company’s Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for ensuring that the company engages in ethical and compliant business practices around the globe. Guided by the IDEX values of Trust, Team, and Excellence, she led the internal processes for promoting and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, including the IDEX Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Abbie joined the company in 2014 as chief labor and employment counsel. In this role, she built an internal labor and employment function, providing business and legal advice on all facets of labor and employment law.
Previously, Abbie served as in-house counsel for Hospira, Inc., where she led the labor and employment function. She also was a litigator at Seyfarth Shaw, LLP, a top Chicago-based labor and employment law firm.
Abbie has a degree in psychology and counseling from the University of Iowa and holds a J. D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she graduated with honors. Married with three children, Abbie enjoys traveling and learning about new people and cultures, reading books, skiing and enjoying the outdoors.
