Group Executive, Fluid and Metering Technologies

Brian joined IDEX as Group Executive for the Fluid and Metering Technologies segment in October 2019. He leads an array of IDEX businesses that design, produce and distribute positive displacement pumps, valves, flow meters, and injectors, as well as provide flow monitoring and other services for the chemical, general industrial, water & wastewater, agriculture, food, and energy industries.


Brian has over 25 years of industry experience leading, transforming and driving growth in manufacturing businesses across a broad range of markets that include automotive, appliance, foodservice equipment, industrial equipment, and telecommunications. He is known for his expertise in business simplification, segmentation, and synthesizing new innovative products from disparate applications and industries.


Before joining IDEX, Brian served as Sector President for the Marmon Holdings’ Retail Foodservice Sector, comprising seven leading foodservice equipment brands – Prince Castle, Silver King, Catequip, Angelo Po, SAGI, Dominioni and Saber King. Before joining Marmon in early 2014, Brian led the industrial consulting practice for Lismore Advisors, a strategy consulting firm headquartered in Chicago. Brian led projects with several Fortune 200 industrial and retail clients developing go-to-market strategies for new growth platforms.


In his previous 19-year career with Illinois Tool Works, Brian led global electronics businesses in a wide range of industries, including automotive, appliances, aerospace and industrial controls. As an avid innovator, he has worked with several businesses to synthesize new product concepts and manufacturing processes, resulting in 14 issued patents and several others pending that have generated well over $50 million in revenue.


Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has post-graduate studies in new product development, change management and pricing strategy.  He currently serves on the Industrial and Systems Engineering Alumni Advisory Board for the School of Engineering at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, helping to guide graduate readiness for industry. Brian is an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan who lives in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with his wife and has three children.
