IDEX Corporation today announced that Melissa Aquino has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Group Executive for the company’s Fire, Safety & Diversified (FSD) and Fluid & Metering Technologies (FMT) segments. In this new role, Ms. Aquino is charged with charting the organic and inorganic growth strategies for both the FSD and FMT segments, while maintaining the company’s reputation for operational excellence.

“Melissa brings a wealth of leadership experience to the role. Her work career spans a wide variety of functions across multiple sectors, including industrial, diagnostic, and life science industries. She has a broad understanding of what it takes to grow and succeed as a team in manufacturing, having served in commercial, portfolio leadership, general manager, human resources, and corporate enterprise leadership roles,” IDEX CEO and President Eric Ashleman said.

Ms. Aquino joins IDEX from Danaher Corp., where she was most recently President of Cepheid – a multi-billion-dollar business that designs and manufactures automated molecular diagnostic systems for use in urgent care centers and hospital labs. She rose quickly through the ranks at Danaher, including roles for Leica Biosystems, a medical diagnostics company focused on cancer diagnostics, McCrometer, which develops flow meters for demanding applications in agriculture, industry, and oil & gas, and for Hach Company, which makes water testing solutions. She also served as an Interim Business Unit HR Director and was a leader in the Danaher Business System (DBS) Office, reporting directly to the CEO. She began her career at Procter & Gamble as a process engineer, has an MBA from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

IDEX remains committed to developing exceptional future leaders to promote from within and Ms. Aquino will be part of that investment in people. She is known as an exceptional builder of talent and teams, an authentic leader with a passion for developing high performing teams and the next generation of leaders.

She will also be key to advancing the highly engaged and driven IDEX culture – with Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and sustainability central to the company’s ongoing success. She is known for being actively involved in these efforts in previous roles.

She joins the IDEX senior leadership team reporting directly to Mr. Ashleman.
